Fans of the Cartoon Network show Adventure Time will understand why I squealed and did a mini dance when I heard that Adventure Time was coming to town. (Admit it, you did too.)

According to Cartoon Network, it’s an ‘interactive, live audiovisual event’ featuring readings of classic scenes, new episode sneak peeks, music, art gallery, CosPlay comps and much more. The voice actors of Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, Marceline and Princess Bubblegum will be on stage for a live discussion and audience Q&A.

With so much to look forward to, we put together a step-by-step guide to making it the best night ever.

1: Get your favourite AT peeps together and book tickets

If you haven’t gotten around to it yet, drop everything and buy tickets now. For once, you’ll be rewarded for coming late to the game  –  Lasttix is selling last minute tickets at over 40% off. So c’mon grab your friends; celebrating the awesomeness that is Adventure Time will only be ten times better when you’re surrounded by your mates who love the show too. You’ll never forgive yourself if you miss it.

2: Re-watch your favourite episodes

This is your official permission from us to spend this week leading up to the live show going back through the episodes and watching your favourites again. Y’know, to remind yourself how mind-blowingly amazing the show is. Plus, they’re only 10 minutes or so each. If you don’t have Foxtel Play or all the seasons in a boxed set *ahem*, some of the earlier episodes are available on ABC iView and YouTube. Or checkout the clips on Cartoon Network.

3: Start putting together your CosPlay outfit

For the hardcore fans out there, here’s your chance to prove just how hardcore you are. Ice King, BMO, Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant, Tree Trunks… the options are endless. There are prizes too — we’re not sure what they are, but bragging rights are pretty awesome.

The Melbourne show is on Friday 10 March; the Sydney show is on Saturday 11 March; and the Brisbane show is on Sunday 12 March. See you there!
